289 Engine Serial Number

Features 1965 Shelby Cobra s/n CSX2538. A well-documented, matching-numbers rack and pinion Cobra 289. New in red with black and Class “A” accessories, including white sidewall tires; a luggage rack and five chrome wheels. Sold new on 03 March, 1965 to Andrew Kreider II.

Although the 289 High Performance block has a unique part number, it was not a unique block. The only difference was its wider main bearing caps. According to the 289 High Performance Mustang book by Tony Gregory, the 289 2V and 4V engines have 151/416-inch main caps that taper to 51/48 inch at the top.

Sold to noted collector John Fergus in 1979. In storage until June 2008. In May 2011 it was sold to the current owner in Phoenix, Arizona.

Older red re-paint on a very good body. Black leather with good patina, black carpets, wood steering wheel. Matching-number Ford 289 engine with twin-4-barrel Carter AFB carburetors. Starts instantly and drives very well. Has a bulletproof top-loader gearbox and the original Borg-Warner T-10 gearbox. Serviced in June and October of 2011 for a total of $6,238.75. Has the side curtains, the top bows, black canvas top, jack kit and chrome wheel spare. Very original, well sorted and ready for this year’s “Cobra 50th Anniversary” at the Monterey Motorsports Reunion weekend. History S/n CSX2538. 1964 production. Early rack and pinion car. 1965, 03 Mar., sold new to Andrew Kreider II, Lake Worth, FL. Total invoice $7024.87. Kreider traded a 1964 Corvette in on the Cobra. 1965, 07 Nov., back to Ray Hunt Ford with 1,423 miles for a new windshield. 1966, 11 June, sold by Hardy-McNeil Motors, Pensacola, FL, to Richard E. Parker, Huntington Beach, CA. Total invoice $5865.21.

Richard Parker purchased the Cobra en route from Florida to Huntington Beach, CA to get married. Voxengo span plus keygen torrent Shortly following the car’s arrival in San Diego, Parker was shipped to Vietnam, and the chore of driving the Cobra was assumed by Parker’s wife.

Cockpit insulation and a side-exit exhaust were installed by 1967.
