Aladdin Xt Plus 2 Install

Sep 21, 2017  The tutorial that started the thread is for a regular Aladdin XT plus 2, an xblasts modded one would be considered different from a stock one just to clear that up for anyone completely new to installing an Aladdin chip.

Aladdin Xt Plus 2 Install

Hello, I'm trying to get my old modded xbox working. Back in the day I was big into it, but I damaged the board messing with led's and eventually moved onto the pc world. I picked up another xbox from ebay and put my old modchip and my old 250gb hd in, but it's only showing 5gb and none of the games are showing up, so I'm hoping I can flash some new software on it and get it working again. I've been out of the loop on xbox mods for over 10 years, but everyone says hexen will have the software I need, so here I am •. I bought an xbox on ebay and now I noticed somethings I didn't before. Can anyone identify what is in the picture. I appoligize If this is in the wrong category this is my first post.

In the first picture it is those 2 dots next to the disc tray. In the second picture it's the blue output. And in the third there appears to be something coming out of the controller. Also this was advertised as an xecuter 2 mod chipped xbox, and I paid $90. • • • • • • • • • Aladdin XT: Need More Info About This Modchip.

Do you know what motherboard revision you'll be installing your modchip onto? Yes 1.6(b) requires extra steps(lpc rebuild) but 1.5 have extra step as well. Check bottom left section of the install guide you linked. Yes both d0 and BT signals on the modchip need to be properly interfaced.

However, if you wish for your Xbox to always boot from the modchip, you can ease up the installation by soldering the 'BT' pad on the modchip to ground. This simulates a long power button press which is required to make your Xbox boot from Aladdin XT (short power button press makes it boot from TSOP).

You can check. As a personal preference, I would make the modchip always ON if I don't intend to boot from the onboard TSOP anymore. It's just more convenient as there's no chance of booting from stock TSOP by mistake. Oh awesome, thanks for the tips! I believe it was a 1.3. I'm not 100% sure because I have two different Xboxes but they're both definitely not 1.6 when I checked. So my understanding is that the chip just bypasses the original TSOP (flash where firmware is stored) and uses whatever is loaded on the aladdin's TSOP?

Will it work out of the box with my new HDD and I can run just pop Slayers or Hexen in to actually softmod the original TSOP? If that's possible, it'd be preferable in case the aladdin ever craps out or something, since it'll essentially be bricked again without the original stock HDD if I keep the dashboard.

First, make sure that both your motherboards are not 1.5. I think you require a multimeter to do so. There are tutorials scattered on the Web that instruct you on how to properly identify your motherboard revision.

1.5 are very, very rare but you never know! In second; you are correct. The chip bypass loading the BIOS from the stock TSOP and instead fetches it from the Aladdin XT flash chip. Yes it will work right out of the box with your new HDD. In your case, if the HDD is brand new, I suggest you burn a copy of Hexen disc (I prefer Auto-Installer Deluxe both both are good) and do the following operations, in order and using the same disc for all of them: * Flash modchip with Evox M8+ for 1.0-1.5 Xbox. * Format HDD with a single F extra partition (assuming you're still going with that 160GB drive) * Install MS stock dashboard on C partition, latest version is 5960 * Install whatever custom dashboard you want on either C or E partition.

I suggest UnleashX to start with. Once those steps are completed, try to boot your Xbox without any disc in the drive.

It should boot to UnleashX Dashboard. If not, Try to reinstall UnleashX to another partition on your drive. That should get you going for the basics.

You'll now have a modded Xbox and you'll be able to access the hard drive via FTP for as long as you are in UnleashX dashboard. Finally for your last question, yes, it is possible to reflash the stock TSOP with a hacked BIOS like Evox M8+ or IND-Bios. It does involve extra soldering on the Xbox motherboard but it's no more challenging than installing a modchip so you could give it a try. Hardin county drivers license office ky. On which point you need to solder in order to enable TSOP reflashing. Sistem politik islam. In order to reflash the TSOP, you must boot from it.

Obviously, your TSOP currently holds the stock BIOS that won't let you run any kind of homebrew software! In order to get to boot homebrew software from a stock BIOS, you need to have a softmod installed on your Xbox Hard drive. Lucky for you, you have FTP access when you boot from your Modchip. You can transfer any softmod installer to your Xbox HDD and launch it to install the necessary files onto your hard drive so that when you boot from the stock BIOS, you trigger the softmod and subsequently load up any homebrew software that can reflash the TSOP (installer discs like Auto-Installer Deluxe and Hexen can do that). For the softmod installer package, I suggest you look into the package. It's the most up to date and should be really foolproof.
