The reverse variant works very well. With the equalizer, a clear bass tone (Mostly in the middle slightly lowered - raise the bass and treble) is set up, which then releases the clean amp sounds by dropping the level control. Looking through a bunch of EQs for my guitar and going through a bunch of reviews, I've decided to go for this one. It's supercheap, and soundwise is no less than one of those 120+ EUR EQs, they said. They were completely right! Download 2012 turbotax. This here helped me shape my tone the way I want, without really being dependent on much shaping on the multitude of amps I get to play on (rehearsals, home, live - you get to play what you get to play).
There's only minimal adjustment needed. The frequency controls go from 100 to 6.4k in 7 bands. It has a level booster, which I also use. It can do tremendous difference, and you can really hear how each of the band controls changes your sound.
There are a few cons: - The plastic casing isn't sturdy It's probably only gonna last you if you put it on your board, switch it on and keep it that way. - Controls can be fiddly if you want to be changing them a lot. I just set it up and use it same way for everything. - The input/output/power ports are pretty close together, so I get to jam my output cable a bit into it. Verdict: A must have if you're careful. This was my third attempt at finding an EQ pedal, principally to shape my sound before going into a POG2 but also as a general utility tool to shape my sound on 6 string electric. My previous buys, a 6 band mxr and a Boss, while functional, tended to introduce unwanted noise, esp if the sliders were boosted rather than cut.
