Datatool System 4 Red Manual

Datatool system 3. Replacing a Dataool S3 on any bike. Triumph datatool s4 red seat magnet regulation. For use in emergency if your bike leaves you stranded! (Like mine did!) I understand the security implications but it's not exactly a secret and thieving scumbags more than likely know this anyway!

Anyone out there got a similar problem or a solution to a nagging matter with a newly fitted DataTool alarm to their bike)? On I had a S4 C1 RED Datatool Alarm fitted to my newly bought Aprilia Mille by the Dealer (won't mention who yet.). Since being fitted, the alarm has constantly been triggered. Bluestacks latest version for pc. Upon disarming, the bike will sound three bleeps which advises that it has been triggered by movement (even though the bike has remained motionless (under a dust sheet) for several hours, or days. The time is now 00:32 and the blinking thing went off (again) about 15 mins ago.

The bike is kept garaged when not in use, and now sits there disarmed, with a chain through the rear tyre and a disklock on the front wheel (so much for having a bleedin alarm as a deterant!!). This is now pissing me off (as well as odd comments from the neighbours). Could the unit be faulty? I have been back to the Dealer and asked for the sensitivity to be reduced fron the standard setting, but they refused to do this (and I have a suspicion that they didn't take me seriosly). Hi, me again! Two things happened today regarding the annoying new DataTool alarm fitted to my 01 Mille.

A man from DataTool rang me this morning to ask if I was still having problems. He suggested that I get my local dealer to reduce the nudge sensitivity by 2 clicks (from setting 8 to 6) and to increase the movement sensiticity from 3 degrees to 4 degrees. So, I rang the Dealer to ask them to do this. What did they do? They disagreed. They asked me if I had or know of anyone who has a wireless network in the vicinity of where I keep my bike garaged.

I said yes, confirmed that I do, as well as all the neighbours (afterall, who doesn't have a wireless thingy at the house nowadays). I actually had to tell them (quite firmly) to do as Mr. DataTol advised and I point blankly efused to accept that the bike alarm is being triggered by WiFi networks. Anyone out there got any suggestions about this?RICHARD.

Datatool

Burty's right. If it was WIFI causing the alarm to trigger (possibly because it thinks it's being 'scanned') then it's either faulty (so the shop should replace it) or it's not 'fit for purpose', which means Datatool should replace it. In this latter case, if the bike shop are an authorised Datatool distributor then Datatool would expect the shop to replace the unit with one that IS 'fit for purpose', and take the issue up with them later - after all what else is a franchise for if it's not to make Datatool's job of selling products and services easier.Go back to the shop, tell them this, and if it still fails, get in touch with your local consumer advice centre, or citizen's advice.Oh yeah - what's the dealership? I'll make sure I avoid them.

I had the same problem with that alarm when fitted to my 2008 R1.I foung it was down to the switch under the seat. As it works basically as a reed switch and magnet, when the bike is hot the 2 parts are closer because to the expansion of materials when hot. As the bike cools the distance between the 2 parts increases triggering the alarm as it thinks that something has moved.what i did to test the theory was to move the sensor closer to the magnet, ensuring that they were still in line, and hey presto good nights sleeps for me and the neighbours. Hope this helps. Alarms are a complete waste of time. Just purchased FZ1 with Datatool S4 C1 red alarm fitted, what a joke!
