In a recent call to Sony eSupport and I asked for the driver. After an hour of having their support guy do nothing, he said my registry was corrupted and suggested that I buy their annual maintenance plan on sale for $195.
I asked how much to fix just this problem. He offered to fix the problem for $65. I said I had to think about it. His manager came on and offered me a $35 special to fix this problem. Mind you all I asked for was the install package for the drivers.
He refused to give me the driver package unless I bought their service. Your solution is exact. Unfortunately it is not posted on the Sony site and took quite some time to sift through the web to find.
The solution fixes all driver problems with Sony Vaio/ArcSoft Motion Eye WebCams (also known as the Sony Visual Communications Camera). Your fix also corrects the WebCam lost microphone problem where the WebCam microphone suddenly stops working and is no longer accessible to applications on the computer.
Sony eSupport actually told me on an earlier call that the laptop did not have a built in microphone. Kudos WSeven. Tell me where you'd like me to make a $35 donation. I'd rather see my money go to a good cause than Sony. Thanks, Lee PS.

I can no longer find the Sony Motion Eye camera. Can anyone hlep? Ned I RECENTLY BOUGHT A SONY VAIO EH3O WHICH CAME WITH A WINDOWS 7 BASIC. SINCE I HAVE AN ORIGINAL COPY OF THE WINDOWS 7 PREMIUM I INSTALLED IT ON THE SONY. HOWEVER, NOW I GET A MESSAGE SAYING THE WINDOWS RUNNING ON MY LAPTOP IS A FAKE, REQUESTING ME TO VERIFY THE COPY WITH MS.
