Intel Hd Graphics Control Panel 3 Monitors

The above screen shot is from a laptop with not monitors attached. Another shot, with the '5' selected. When I select '1 2' then select 'Show only 1' under Multiple displays:.. A fifth (of 4) display appears. The invalid monitors are listed in the Device Manager, but removing or disabling them does not help. Removing the display driver resolves the problem (and my resolution drops really low), but Windows immediately re-installs the driver.

Reproduced on normal display drivers The laptop and and validly attached monitors work fine in a flash drive boot of Ubuntu, so it seems to be isolated to Windows and not a hardware thing. I did remove all laptop power (including the internal battery), though I did not remove CMOS battery. Lenovo T440 ThinkPad, Machine Type 20B6.

Windows 10 Pro Recent changes: Installed Hyper-V (not running now). Edited Nov 2, 2016 at 08:23 UTC.

It is a Fujitsu laptop with an Intel HD Graphics 4000 and an LVDS connector. I have two monitors connected to the laptop. The laptop is Display 1 (built-in display), Left monitor is Display 2 (DVI-to-HDMI connection), Right monitor is Display 3 (VGA-to-VGA connection).

The problem has been isolated to Hyper-V! Special thanks to IT_Panda_Ninja for his polite, detailed, simple question that led to this investigation (Spice up his post above!) I feel like a dork giving myself 'best answer.' The first person to reproduce this on different hardware will get best answer. Just make sure you quote these steps or improve on them.
