Our Lady of Lourdes plan shower for spiritual babies Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church is having a baby shower after all Masses on Oct. 20, 26 and 27. During January Our Lady of Lourdes parishioners adopted spiritual babies and have prayed daily for their safety. Their birthdays will be celebrated with a special gift giving event. All donations will be presented to the Slidell Pregnancy Help Center.
Diapers and baby clothing are always needed. 'Spiritual adoption' emphasizes the power of prayer in safeguarding life when threatened in the mother's womb. Our gifts represent our commitment to those in need in our community. Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church is located at 3924 Berkley St., Slidell. Magnificat breakfast meeting Nov. 8 in Mandeville 's next breakfast in western St. Bootstrap table width.
Tammany will be held Nov. 8 from 9 a.m. To noon at Benedict's Plantation. The featured speaker is Kathy MacInnis, founder of the Magnificat-West St. Tammany chapter in the Archdiocese of New Orleans. MacInnis recently was named Coordinator of the Magnificat Central Service Team, which ensures the integrity of the ministry worldwide and oversees the workings of Magnificat’s 80 Chapters in six countries.
For the past 15 years MacInnis has served on the CST with Marilyn Quirk, the founding Coordinator of Magnificat, and has directed the formation of more than 50 new Magnificat chapters. MacInnis is a wife, mother, and grandmother, caregiver to her mother for 15 years, and caregiver to her father-in-law for 14 years.
In 1999, she was miraculously healed of severe food and chemical allergies which threatened to ruin her health. MacInnis said that through the joys and challenges of her life, the Lord has guided, molded and blessed her. Painfully shy for many years, the Lord brought her to a place of freedom. Tickets are $12 per person, and are available at Most Holy Trinity Church, 4465 Highway 190 East Service Road, Covington. Tickets also may be purchased by sending a check payable to Magnificat-West St. Tammany Chapter with a self-addressed stamped envelope to Gwen Richard, 131 Woodcrest Drive, Covington.
